The Life Center of Hernando Honors Volunteers

The Life Center of Hernando Honors Volunteers

The Life Center loves to honor its volunteer of the month. Without their constant input, support and long hours, TLC could not function.  TLC has had many excellent volunteers. They haven’t all gotten the recognition they deserve, but we have managed to honor a few of them by recognizing them as a Volunteer Of The Month. Some important qualities in a volunteer are:

A team player. One who regularly arrives for team meetings on time, is friendly, polite, considerate and compassionate.

Old fashioned fundamental values that include honesty, reliability, and high moral standards.

Respect for the work of TLC and its leaders, willingness to follow our established guidelines, is teachable, and can maintain confidentiality.

Is accountable, professional,  communicates well, and is a consistent role model for ethical and moral behavior.

Is emotionally peaceful, stable, law-abiding, organized, and financially responsible.

Motivated, decisive, creative, flexible and having a sense of humor.

Heather Olejniczak is January 2016 Volunteer of the Month

Heather

Heather and family

The Life Center of Hernando (TLC) is proud to announce January’s Volunteer of the Month. A former educator of children with disabilities, Heather Olejniczak has a passion for helping others in an advocacy role. After being told for nearly a decade that she could not have children of her own, Heather and her husband learned they were expecting while they were in the process of becoming foster parents. Understanding what a gift this little life was, they searched for the most natural ways to bring their child into the world and raise their baby. From this experience, Heather developed a love for educating others on the options of natural birth, breastfeeding, babywearing and gentle parenting. When one of our other volunteers at TLC invited Heather to aid a young, single mother from TLC with a gentle and loving birth experience, she jumped at the opportunity. Heather accompanied our first-time mom through over 18 hours of labor and delivery and supported her in her first hours and days of of breastfeeding.
Heather is the co-owner of Healthy Active Hernando, a local nutrition club that offers free fitness classes and on-site child care for people of all fitness levels, and provides coaching on nutrition and complimentary supplementation (facebook.com/HealthyActiveHernando).
She lives in Spring Hill with her homeschooled preschooler, toddler, and at-home husband. She is incredibly honored to be recognized by The Life Center as Volunteer of the Month.
